Vtuberのバーチャルおばあちゃん、そして中の人と言われているすあだが好き過ぎて、ジャスティスボーイ真2の曲のカバーを作りました。人生初？のドラムンベースアレンジでとても難しかったです。
今も おはようバーチャルおばあちゃん【2023年9月3日号】 のライブ配信を見ながらこのブログを書いています。
何年か前にたまたまおばあちゃんが弾き語りライブをしているのを目にして、クオリティの高いKinKi Kidsのモノマネや、クオリティが低いどころかあんまり知らない曲でもパワーでゴリ押してやってしまう姿勢、繋ぎトークの面白さに引き込まれました。
毎週日曜の7時からやっているライブ配信のおはようバーチャルおばあちゃんも生活リズムに合うしとても面白くて、ハマっています。
中の人と言われている「すあだ」は本当にとても多才な人で、バーチャルおばあちゃんというモンスターを生み出したあとも、「五月雨空也」という新たな最高キャラクターを生み出し、演じ、モーションキャプチャーでダンスダンスレボリューションをプレイしてる姿もメチャクチャ面白くて腹を抱えて笑いました。
手芸、人形劇などにも長けていて、歴史を遡ると10数年以上前からニコ生やニコニコ動画でカルト的な人気を誇っていたようなのです。
その頃「ジャスティスボーイ真」というアニメも作っていて、その2ndシーズンのOP曲に大ハマりました。
OPのアニメーションはグレンラガンを初め色んなオマージュを重ねながら、10数年前にこのクオリティのものを1人で作り上げていて本当に感動します。そして曲。同じくグレンラガンの名曲「空色デイズ」を意識した部分はあるかと思いますが、自分はそれ以上にハマり、何度も何度も繰り返して聴いてしまうほどのめり込みました。

作曲している衝撃的の人＝cakeboxって誰なんだろう・・・と思ったら、ヒトリエのシノダさんなんですね！凄い。この当時からバーチャルおばあちゃんの中の人はそういうコネクションがあったんだ・・・
今回バーチャルおばあちゃんへのリスペクトや作曲者へのリスペクトも込めてカバーを作りましたが、ドラムンベースはとても難しい・・・
ロックマンネタや、Bメロで無理矢理Future Bass的な要素を入れたり、またエンディングにはバーチャルおばあちゃん好きならクスっとしてくれそうなネタを添えています。
I’m obsessed with the virtual grandmother Vtuber and the person behind it known as Suada. So much so that I’ve created a cover of the song from “Justice Boy Shin 2”. It was my first attempt at a drum and bass arrangement, and it was quite challenging.
Right now, I’m writing this blog while watching her live stream.
A few years ago, I happened to see the grandma performing a singing session live. I was captivated by her high-quality impersonation of KinKi Kids and her approach of forcefully performing songs that she barely knows, and not of high quality. The way she bridges between topics during her talk is entertaining.
I’m hooked on her live streams titled “Good Morning Virtual Grandma”, which airs every Sunday at 7 am. It fits into my daily routine and is so entertaining.
The person behind the virtual grandma, “Suada”, is incredibly talented. After creating the monster character “Virtual Grandma”, she went on to create and portray a new fantastic character named “Kuuya Samidare”. Watching her play Dance Dance Revolution using motion capture is hilariously entertaining, and I can’t help but laugh out loud.
She’s also skilled in handcrafts and puppet shows. Looking back, she seemed to have had a cult following on NicoNico Live and NicoNico Douga for over a decade.
Back then, she also made an anime called “Justice Boy Shin”, and I became obsessed with the opening song of its second season.
The opening animation, with its tributes to various works like Gurren Lagann, is impressive, especially considering it was created a decade ago by a single person. And the song, while it might have elements reminiscent of Gurren Lagann’s hit “Sorairo Days”, has captivated me even more. I can’t stop listening to it over and over again.

I wondered who this astonishing composer named “cakebox” was, and it turns out it’s Shinoda from the band Hitorie! Amazing. Even back then, the person behind Virtual Grandma had such connections…
This time, I made the cover as a tribute to both Virtual Grandma and the composer, but drum and bass is quite challenging…
I’ve incorporated Rockman themes, forced in some Future Bass elements in the B-melody, and added a joke in the ending that fans of Virtual Grandma would probably chuckle at.
