I watched the wonderful Japanese anime film Look Back and wrote my thoughts on it on Note. I’ll be translating it into English. I hope you’ll watch it if it gets English subtitles or a dubbed version.

Meet with a friend who traveled from afar
Even just this is an excessively grueling schedule for me, but during the time between the early morning shoot and vocal training, I couldn’t just sleep, so I decided to watch the movie “Look Back.”
Within a few minutes, I realized, “I’m going to need a handkerchief for this…” and I was indeed quietly crying throughout, but it wasn’t just simple emotion.
At times, the tears were similar to those that come from the joy and despair I feel when I suddenly encounter a genius’s music, photography, or art on social media, and at other times,
they were tears of fear from being repeatedly hit with the thought, “You just don’t have enough talent or effort.”
It’s tricky to treat “talent” and “effort” as completely separate things and use each word that way, but for someone like me, who loves “it” yet can’t say they’ve worked relentlessly without distraction to do it well, or to show it off well, I have neither the vocabulary nor the right to speak.
I know this, and those who have known me for a long time know it too. Still, being beaten over and over by such imagery and music is understandably tough.
But there’s no doubt it’s a wonderful work; I’m glad I watched it.
Prestige Kato and I sometimes talk about our deceased friend, and there are times when neither of us can look straight ahead. It will probably be like this forever.
Many of my acquaintances, who were far more loved by others and had far richer talents than me, have also passed away.
But I must not use that as an excuse or just for my own gain. If, for example, I was connected with them through music, I can continue that legacy, borrow from it at times, and present the traces they left behind.
